The Malankara Catholic Youth Movement (MCYM) is a national organization that is formed of youth from around the world in the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church. The ultimate goal of this organization is to focus on the development of youth through spiritual, intellectual, social, and cultural means. St. Francis of Assisi is the heavenly patron of the organization. October 4, the feast day of St. Francis, is actively observed as the MCYM Day at all chapters of the organization. All youth that fit the age criteria (15-35) are eligible for membership. The Houston chapter of MCYM is comprised of 72 active youth that participate in growing their faith and fellowship through various spiritual sessions and fun events throughout the year. The objective of MCYM Houston is to bring our youth together, which is achieved through monthly events where the youth are able to gather as a community to worship God and strengthen bonds with each other.
Major Events : Monthly and occasional meetings, Adoration and Holy Mass in English on every third Friday of the month, Spiritual session on every Month, Way of the Cross on Lenten season, Youth retreats, Special Day observations like Father’s Day & Mother’s day activities, Organizing MBOC, Two Blood drives on every year, Food Drive, Volunteering at Houston food bank, MCYM Day Activities, Blessing of pets, Annual MCYM Camp (Spark 2022 at Denton), MCYM Friendsgiving, Christmas potluck get-together, bake sale, Car Wash fundraiser, youth hang out.
